Our client has reached out to us roughly a year ago to develop and manufacture a special wire cutter, which can cut the wire to individual sizes in 0.2 mm to 1 mm thickness. The function and operation of the machine is rather simple, the drum pulls up the wrapped wire, straightens it up and cuts it to the pre-programmed size.
The difficulty of the project comes from the fact that the linear actuators are constantly moving, so the cutting knife and the wire straightening mechanism are constantly moving as well. Thus programming the cutting size requires high precision and precise design.
At the first stage we analyzed the existing prototype of the German partner and completed the necessary transformations and improvements. During manufacturing, we will use plate machining, laser cutting, cnc, bending and milling technologies. The machine casing is produced by laser welding and the surface is powder coated. Other auxiliary techniques include CO welding and lacquering. Aluminum and steel parts are protected by anodizing. The electrical fitting of the machine is also done in-house.
The development of the unique control software is still in the design phase, we hope that our new manufacturing machine will soon be in service at the factory of the German partner.
