Porsche Case
Porsche maintenance tool carrying case
At the beginning of 2018, we were making carrying cases for a maintenance tool supplier for Porsche The cases were made using a sheet metal bending machine with unique bends and laser welding using 3 mm sheets. After machining, the sheets were powder coated.
In order to machine the foam, we made 3D plans, taking into account the hinge fixing screws, and calculating with the upper parts for a tight and exact fit. To store the parts, we designed the inner foam based on the design of the tools. Due to the special dimensions of the case, several layers of foam were glued together with the press and from this block of foam the two-sided milling was performed using an special clamping template. In addition laser engraving was used to display the code of the tools in the foam.
The hinges, the adjustable clamps and the industrial metal insert edges were purchased from an external supplier for assembly.
It took approx. 2.5-3 weeks from the beginning of the design until the finished product was delivered.
Technologies used: Laser cutting, bending, laser welding, cnc machining, laser engraving, powder coating with a supplier, assembly.
